The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification tests. Please visit the individual exam pages for more details on exam content, exam terms and conditions, as well as additional guidelines. If you require special accommodations due to a chronic illness or visual or hearing impairment, you should contact the exam provider directly. The Faculty Dashboard in Workday has the option of "View My Teaching Schedule", which allows faculty to find their exam schedules. The Registrar's Office also has a list with exam times for those courses that are required to have an exam by NYSED regulations. For evening classes, final exams are scheduled at the normal class time during the week of the exam.

Registration

Students are encouraged to look up the exam schedule online. It is important to keep in mind that the final schedule of exams can change at any time. Students should therefore check with their instructors to confirm the correct time and date of their exam. Students should also make certain to print the official list and bring it to their exams.

In addition to the exam schedule, students should also familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines and the terms and conditions. These can be found on the website for each exam. Students acknowledge they have read and agree to the conditions and terms of registration.

Exam sites make every effort to accommodate those with special requirements. The nature and severity of these needs must be declared on the registration form, and then confirmed by an attestation of a doctor. The locations of the exam must adhere to confidentiality.

If students are scheduled to take three exams on the same day, they should contact their instructor or department in order to arrange for a make-up test. It is possible to have three examinations on the same day. However, this could result in a lot of stress and can affect the quality of the exam. Additionally, the professor might not be able to give a makeup exam on another day.

Before taking the test Students must prepare for the exam by reviewing their syllabus and practicing their German skills. The test is a paper-based test which assesses the ability to speak, read, and write in German. The results of the exam are reported on a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the exam are awarded an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies that the student has attained the level of language A1. This level is the first level of the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free of charge. Students are required to carry an ID that is valid for government purposes to the examination. If they do not present a valid photo ID will be disqualified from taking the exam.

Fees

You'll need to pay a fee for the examination if you wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This fee is in addition to the course fees.
