The official list below only shows time periods that are reserved and not confirmed exams. Please confirm with your instructor whether or not a course has its final exam in this period.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification exams. Please consult individual exam pages for additional guidelines, terms and conditions and exam content. If you require special accommodations due to a chronic illness or visual or hearing impairment, please contact the exam provider directly and make sure to submit a thorough documentation when you register.

The Faculty Dashboard in Workday has the option of "View My Teaching Schedule", which allows faculty to locate their exam schedules. Additionally the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for classes that have exams required by NYSED regulations. For evening classes, final exams are scheduled during the normal class time during the week of the exam.

Registration

The exam schedule is available on the internet, and students are encouraged to look it up. However it is important to keep in mind that the final exam schedule may alter at any moment. Therefore, students should consult their instructors to ensure that they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should also print out the official list of questions to bring to their exam.

Students should also familiarize themselves with the rules and conditions of the exam in addition to the schedule. They are available on the individual exam page. After registering, students acknowledge that they accept these conditions and terms.

If a student is scheduled to take three tests on the same day, they should contact their instructor or department in order to schedule a retake test. While it is possible to take three exams in one day, it could result in high stress levels and could affect the quality of the exam. The instructor may not be able to give an opportunity to take a makeup test on a different day.

Students should review their course material before taking the exam and must practice their German skills. The test is a paper-based test which tests the ability to read, speak, and write in German. The results of the exam are presented on a scale from A1 to C2. Students who succeed in passing the test are awarded a Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies that the student has achieved the level of A1 in their language. This level is the initial stage of the six-level scale of competence outlined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free of charge. Students are required to carry a valid government ID to the exam. Students who do not have a valid picture identification will be disqualified.

Fees

You will have to pay an examination fee in order to obtain the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the course fees.

Practice assessments provide you with an overview of the format of the questions, their wording and the level of questions on the exam. They allow you to assess your knowledge level, find areas of knowledge that aren't covered and increase your chances of passing the test.

Please note that the exam fee isn't refundable. Exam results are only sent via email and not by phone.
